  3. Line extension costs are the same for overhead and underground extensions and are as follows:

c)     The member must provide easements and a cleared right-of-way 40' wide for overhead line and 20' wide for underground and is responsible for costs incurred over and above a normal installation expense (water crossings, solid rock etc.). Power lines shall be installed on private lands rather than public road right-of-way.

a)     Purchase of an approved Pedestal, installing it and preparing it to receive our wires.

b)     Hiring an electrician to build and install an approved Pedestal capable of receiving our wires.

Monthly Service Rate

Members who reside at the service year round are placed on the monthly service rate.

The member should read the meter on the first of each month. The meter reading along with payment is to be received in our office by the due date shown on your statement. The charges will be billed according to the current rate in effect which include a monthly facility charge $27.50. Sales tax is in addition to the energy charge.  Meter readings may be included on the bill, telephoned in to our office or e-mailed to us from our website www.bayfieldelectric.com.

Seasonal Service Rate

Seasonal service billing is for the period from January 1 through December 31.  Our Cooperative personnel will read your meter in December. For the first year, you will be billed the monthly facility charge of $27.50 plus sales tax.  All kilowatts used, along additional sales tax will be billed on the December billing statement sent the latter part of January.

Each year thereafter, your ESTIMATED BILLING will be based on the previous years total kilowatt usage divided by 12 and then billed according to the current rate in effect.  Our cooperative personnel will read your meter in December and your settlement billing, based on this actual meter reading, will be sent the latter part of January.
